Others convicted this session and sentenced were, William R. A MURDER CHARGE. DUNEDIN, August 6. John Sharp, farmer, 72 years of ago, was charged at file Supreme Court to r day with, at Rangahere on May loth., murdering his daughter Sophia McLean Sharp, aged sevou. When asked how he pleaded the accused replied “guilty to Sophia Sharp, but not guilty to Sophia McLean Sharp.” Mr Irwin who appeared for accused, said he had only been informed that accused intended to enter that plea, and only question was to the man’s mental condition. There was no question at all on the facts. The Judge said the matter could be left to the Jury. The case is proceeding.
