The friendly invasion of Canterbury visitors on behalf of the Progress League and other Christchurch Associations will doubtless he welcomed on all sides Our neighbors across the ranges are taking a friendly interest in our wel fare and realise, that properly tapped and brought into touch with Canterbury, the two provincial districts caa be helpful to each other. It will be helpful certainly to have the influential aid of Canterbury in all those larger district matters which will tend to give tlie place material prosperity an 1 by familiarising Canterbury represents - tive men with the potentionities of the district, wo will have a better and more influential advocacy of our needs. Ihe representatives of three large organisations are to he with us, namely cf the Progress League, the Industrial Association and the Chamber of Com • merce. Those three bodies represent important sections of the East Coast, community, and the information the representatives will glean will be of special value for all future advocacy of important public works and settlement problems calculated to lift the district ahead. The visitors should have therefore a very cordial welcome ant there should be an earnest desire to show them all parts of the district an > point out those more inportant wants i which will aid and foster development ! and make Westland a, more important | part than ever of the prospering life I of the Dominion. 0
