It is announced that the Resolute (the American defender) will receive a lime allowance of seven minutes fifteen seconds, due to Shamrock IV’s greater size. The Shamrock has been fitted with a new streamline sail between the main sail, and mast, giving the craft additional 'sail aft. The weather forecast for Sandy Hook on Thursday was moderate lo trcsli winds, weather unsettled with thunder showers probably. During the day Shamrock IV took a trial spin with the additional sail. The Resolute parted her throat halyards half a mile frqm the turn, and withdrew., and the Shamrock wins the race, provided she covered the course within the time limit. SHAMROCK WAS LEADING. WHEN RESOLUTE COLLAPSED. (Received This Dnv at 10.35 a.m.) NEW YORK, July 15, Tlie Shamrock bad passed the Resolute when the latter’s mainsail collapsed.
