The Federal High Court has discharged a rule nisi for the issue of a writ ot. Habeas Corpus in respect of Rev. Father Jerger. Counsel for the Commonwealth Government stated it was their opinion that Father Jerger’s prev scnco would he a danger to the public. It would he a menace to law and order. An appeal has been lodged against the discharge, although the deportation will probably meantime be carried out. The Crown has given an undertaking that in the event of the appeal being upheld, it will'place no restriction on Father Jerger’s return to Australia. CIVIL SERVICE 1 STRIKERS. BRISBANE, July 15The State Services Federation has recommended the affiliated Unions to impose a levy of 5s per member, to assist the West Australian Civil Service strikers.
