POLLARD’S PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. “MAID O’ THE STORM.” The nature of the picture to be screened to-night, in the title “Maid o’ The Storm,” and the story is romantic fiction from start to finish. A star who is rapidly achieving more and more popularity is Bessie Barriscale. Her blonde beauty is particularly suited to screen work, and she photographs extremely well. This is evidenced more than ever in her latest release “Maid o’ Tho Storm,” in which she plays the stellar role of Ariel, the waif who is thrown up by the sea. Educated by some simple fishermen, she goes out into the world to make a name for herself, and succeeds as a dancer through sheer indomitable will and earnest endeavoui. Bessie Barriscale’s acting is natural and unaffected and she makes the most of a difficult role. Her husband, Howard Hickman, has a place in the cast of this picture, having for the nonce relinquished the direction of his attractive wife. Some beautiful photography is a feature of the production. A comedy, scenic and topical completes tlie programme. On Thursday, Tom Moore m his latest success entitled “Just for Tonight.”
