PRICK OF TIMBER
The Board of Trade advises that authority lias recently been given to Auckland and Waikato sa'.'.inillers and timber merchants to increase the prices of | timber by amounts ranging from 2s per 100 for first class kauri. These prices, it is explained, are necessitated on account of the increase in wages recently awarded by the courts to sawmill workers /in these districts. However, increasing prices of timber are inevitable owing to the great demand and the shortage of supplies. Thii condition is one that investors can take advantage of for the Great Western Timber Company, Ltd., is being formed to cut out 10,000 acres of the finest forest in New Zealand. A full description of the enterprise, illustrated with recent pliotgraphs of the Okarito timber country will be found in the prospectus. Tt is worth reading.
