The entries for the fat stock sale at Arahura on Monday next, appears in this issue. At the Magistrate's Court this afternoon Mr E. C. Levvey S.M., was engaged hearing a defended affiliation application. Mr Wells appearing for plaintiff apd All - Murdoch fpr the defendant. The Court was cleared during the hearing.

Mr Climie (organiser of the Canterbury Progress League) stated at Wednesday night’s meeting that when ne was on the West Ooast some time ago he was told that the visit of a delegation would he welcomed, and would do good. The suggestion had now been made that a delegation representing the Chamber of Commerce, the Industrial Association, anil the League should visit the Coast, leaving on August 17. That would he just after the Grand National meeting. An itinerary had been drawn up for a visit occupying thirteen or fourteen days. There would he three representatives of the Industrial Association and two representatives, -Hq understood that one or two members of the league were anxious to accompany the delegation; and he felt no doubt there were others who would desiiie to do so. He felt sure that the visit would do a tremendous amount of good. It would bring the Canterbury and West Coast people closer together.
