iiiisraALiftN <y n.z. iuhus association/ FERMOY SACKED. LONDON, Juufe 28, The town of Femoy lias again oee.'t sacked by the soldiers stationed in the AVest of Ireland. The reason given M that the sacking is In retaliation for capture of Lucas, the military officer by some Sinn Feincrs in Clare. A crowd of 400 soldiers marched through the Fermoy streets. The time chosen was midnight on Sunday. They engaged in smashing windows and looting shops.- The shops looted included those of jewellers. They did enormous damage.

The residents were terrorised. Several of the shop keepers were threatened by soldiers tbe latter saving that unless Lucas was released by Monday night up would go tbe town by fire.

Military cars and aeroplanes were sent out scouring the AVest and South of Ireland, searching for the kidnapped Brigadier Lucas. Destroyers and patrol boats have beeti warned to examine all passing craft.

ANOTHER TOAVN SACKED. LONDON, June 28

Another fray in which the soldiers partly wrecked a town is reported p rom tbe South of Ireland. The scene of the occurrence was the ancient town of Lismore, in County AVaterford. The time was on Sunday night.

The town was partially wrecked. The shops and the houses were looted. There also was bomb throwing ind rifle firing.
