ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE
At the above yards yesterday the total entry comprised 51 head of cattle and 49 fat sheep, there being the usual attendance of buyers. The quality of the stock that was yarded was good, although no very heavy cattle were penned. Compared-with last sale prices were somewhat firmer and towards the end of the sale, heifer beef made up to 50s. The following sales were recorded.
Messrs G .W .Moss and Co sold on account of Mr J. McGregor, pen of 49 fat ewes and wetliers at 33s 9d. Messrs W. Jeffries and Go. sold on account of Messrs Wilson and Corby, 1 sucker at ;£4 9s, 3do at £3 2s. On account Mr J. D.t McKa.f-, 2 bulks at £l4 17s 6d, 3 at '£l4 15s, 2 at £l4 12« 6d, 2 at £l3 7s 6d, 3 at £l3, 4 at £l2 10s, 4 at £lO 10s. On account of Mr 1). J. Diedriehs, 2 blks. at £l3, 3 heifers at £lO 10s, 3 at £lO, 3 at £9. 4 at £7 12s 6d, and 2 cows at £8 10s. On account of Mr H. Linklater, 0 heifers at £6 10s.
• M. Houston and Co report ns follows: We held our fortnightly sale at the above yards yesterday, there being a good attendance of buyers. Owing to the short entry competition was keen and beef took~'a sharp rise on prices ruling at last sale. We sold on account of Mr R. A. Harcourt sear. 2 bullocks at £lB 2s fid, 2 at £l3 os, 2 at £l7 7s (id, 5 at £l4 15s.
