Yenizolos in an interview, replying to critics, said the war was forced upop Greece against her will. The plan of operations will be conducted by Marshal F°ch and General Wilson. Greece has no intention of occupying or retaining Anatolia. The war is directed against Turkey, not Islam. According to the “Petit Journal” Greece’s initial success, coupled yith the Nationalist defeat at Ismid, decided Mustapha Kamel’ to abandon his attack op Constantinople. TURKISH OPERATIONS. (Rmeived This Dav at 12.25 p.rn.) LONDON, June 28. The “Evening News.” Constantinople correspondent reports under cover of British warships, a Greek force disembarked at Panderia to participate in the finalising of operations in thw- .Dardanelles area-. Many weary, ragged Turks of all ages are surrendering at Smyrna. They include a large proportion of officers. Nationalists in Thrace told the Greeks that they intend to fight to the utmost and threaten to burn Adrianople if hard pressed.
BRITISH IN TURKEY. (Received this dav at 1.30 p.tn 1 CONSTANTINOPLE, June 28. A British naval force occupied Mudania and Koramudsal. British at present are not strong enough to make an offensive mainly owing to the absence of long range guns and aircraft. Twelve hundred nationalists are concentrated near Mudania. PERSIAN INSURGENTS. (Received this dav at 1.30 p.m.) TEHERAN June 28. It is reported that Kutelii Khan’s forces have reached Tununkuban and are advancing towards Teheran, evading the British position at Khsvan.
