Friends of Mr William McAdoo state they have now been assured that if he is nominated as the Democratic Fresident al candidate, lie will accept. On the eve of the Convention, it is claimed, issues rather than men, furnish the grounds of battle. The Democratic bosses want clear cut prohibition declarations. Mr Adoo is a “Dry” supporter, the boom for which takes a great bound. Governor Cox is alleged to be losing support, being said to be trying to persuade delegates that he does not represent the “Wets”. Vice-President Marshall is stated definitely to he a candidate.
