In the third round 'of the Singles Championship Lycett beat Doust, Garland beat Masterman, Kingseote beat A. H. Lowe, Tilden beat Parke 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.

Keenest interest was shown in the Tilden-Kingscote encounter at Wimbledon. It was generally considered that the winner will prove the ultimate challenger of Patterson. The match lasted two hours. The light was bad, and some min fell. Kingscote was in brilliant form, often out-playing Tilden, whose superior service secured him the victory.
