FOOTBALL.

Tn the list of fixtures for Saturday published yesterday the Kumara-Ross fixture at Ross; Mr Mitchell referee was omitted. This game will definitely take place to-morrow.

The Southern Division fixtures continue to-morrow afternoon, with, gam js at Boss, Kokatahj and Hokitika. The game for Cass Square set down is between Diggers and Excelsiors and an interesting contest should result.

Some comment has been caused by the management of the Southern Division by the small amount of collections received on Cass Square during the games played on Saturday afternoons which is far from cojnmenßiirate with tlie number of spectators present to witness the play. It is felt that surely if the spectators take , enough interest' in the games to visit the ground that. they, would be sports enough to donate a. coin when waited on by the collectors. Instead fit is noticeable that quite. a number when the hat is seen to he coming round endeavour to get out of the line of the canvassers so as to dodge subscribing. It is hoped that a better spirit will prevail in future and that the collections will be of a more substantial nature, ns the expense® of the management are "fairly substantial and unless the public show their appreciation bv paying up, there' will not ho enough funds available to enable tho sport to be carried on. On Saturday there will be lady collectors at the gates, when it is hoped that the collections will be larger than they have been in the last few afternoons.
