ST JOHN’S AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.
There was a fajr attendance at the meeting called for Saturday evening for the purpose of forming a local branch of the above Association. Mr F. W. Thompson (Superintendent of the local brigade) occupied the chair and introduced Major Simeon, who has been appointed Staff-Superin-tendant for Grey and’ Westland districts. Major Simeon after reviewing the work done by the members of the local Brigade explained the' aims :.nd objects of the Association his remark's being followed with interest by those present. The Major suggested that n committee of the general public be formed to govern the work of the local brigade. This suggestion was adopted and the following committee was proposed:—President, Mr G. -Y Peny, Vice-President Messrs T. E'. Y. Seddon. M.P., W. Ei. Williams, D. J. Evans, W. J. Butler, Dr Teiclielmann. Hons. H. 1/ Michel and J. Grimmond. Committee —Mesdames G. A. Wo>l (Supt,), 11. M. Coulson, Galbraith, J. J. Breeze, P. R. Stewart, R. MiM, D. Stuart, Brunton, 'Pilkington Dr Holloway, Rev. O’Sullivan and Fraser, Hon. Surgeon, Dr Teichdmann. Supt F. W. Thompson moved that the foregoing be elected with power to add to their number seconded by Mr R. Wild and carried unanimously. It was decided to commence a course of First Aid immediately. All :ntend- | ing to join are requested to hand ill - their names to the local Secretary, Miss E- Hoenan. The Chairman thanked Major Simeon for his attendance and for his effo't? in the interests of the Association ■ nd moved a vote of thanks be accorded to him, which was carried by acclamation. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
