The Prime Minister advised tile Post | and Telegraph Conference "this morn- j ing that he cannot answer the requests I submitted to him by the delegation in j May last, until the railway tribunals J recommendations are received by" the ; Government and that then Cabinet will consided the question of a bonus for the 1 Post and Telegraph Servants. |
The Conference lias urgently replied that the grievances of Post and Telegraph servants should be settled on their merits and not on the bapis of grievances of the Railway Servants. Further, that this service wants salary improvements and a bonus is therefore considered an impossible suggestion. The Conference has adjourned until an answer is received and in the meantime is preparing to take a postal ballot of the membership re further action. Communicate with members if neeessady by calling a special meeting qnd advise this Conference, the press, local members of Parliament and the Prime Minister of the section’s attitude.
