An important decisipu was arrived at by the Conference of New Zealand p. and T, Officers Association this morning, when a motion was passed to amend the constitution of the Assort ition to allow of direct action being taken in times of crisis. This proposed amendment of the Constitution will oe referred in the ordinary course to the membership of the Association fir confirmation by postal ballot. Should members confirm the new constitution, the'question of taking of direct action at any enven time will be still dependent upon the will of the membership as a whole and will not be ordered either by the Conference or Executive oil their own initiative, the point being decided by a special ballot.

A SERIOUS CHARGE, DUNEDIN, June 14, Helen Glegg was remanded for a week at the Police Court to-day on a ehargo of using an instrument for an ittegail operation on a girl now in Dunedin hospital.
