' (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright ) BATTLESHIP LAUNCHED. NEW YORK, June 4. The United States battleship, .Tennessee, .was launched to-day at Brooklyn Navy Yard. Tlie ship is 624 feet long, 97 feet wide. She will carry twelve 14inch, and fourteen 5-inch guns, and also four anti-aircraft guns. The cost o’f the vessel is stated to he $20,000,000. She is expected to join the Pacific Fleet on August Ist. (The Tonnesee, with a displacement of 32,300 tons, and a speed of 21 knots, is of the same class as the Arizona, California, Idaho, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania. America’s fleet of “ Dreadnoughjb ” battleships includes 8 ships armed with 12-inch guns, and 4 ships, each armed with ten 14-inch guns. In addition to the seven ships of the Tennessee type, ten battleships and six battle-cruisers, all mounting eight 16inefci guns as their lhain armament, and the latter to have a speed of 35 knots, 1 are either under construction, or about to be laid down.)
