LATE LOCALS
The s.s. Paeroa leaves Wellington for Hokitika on Tuesday next.
In view of several requests for the return of tickets used at the Royal ball and reception as souvenirs it has been arranged that same can be obtained on application at the Town Clerk’s Office. There was a very large attendance in St Mary’s Club Rooms at the usual weekly euchre and dance on Wednesday evening. The following were tho prize-winners. Ladies Ist (silver sugar scuttle), Mrs H. Harker; 2nd (stationery), Mrs J. Cameron; gent’s Ist. (coal), Mrs W. Jones, (boot outfit), Miss Daly. The prizes for tho evening were kindly donated by two anonymous donors. After supper the floor was crowded with dancers. The music was supplied by Misses Hcenan, 0. Breeze and A. Daly. During the evening Mrs S. Richardson sang “The Sunshine of Your Smile,” for which she received loud applause. The tournament next week will be on Monday night when a valuable prize will be ■give for a lucky seat in addition to the ordinary prizes, '
