The 46th annual meeting of the Mo
kitika Gas Company took place in the Company’s Office in Tancred Street last evening when a fair number of shareholders were present, Mr W. E. Williams. (Chairman of Directors) occupving the chair. Tlie balance sheet was read and adopted and a. dividend of 2s fid per share for the half-year made payable,, the total dividend for the year b-'ing ss. But for the cost of new retorts to be faced shortly a larger dividend would have been authorised. The Chairman and other members spoke of the satisfactory state of the company cons do .- ing the largely increased prices of material and coal, and increase in wages. Receipts were steadily increasing and there was a promising outlook for the coming six months. Mr W. E. Wil-

mously re-elected as was Mr A- B. u King, (the retiring Auditor), votes of thanks were passed to the working and clerical staff and it was resolved to send letters of sympathy to Mr J. S. Lang, (Director), and Mr W. Wilson, (Secretary), regarding their present illhealth.
