REVOLUTION A SUCCESS

NEW YORK, May 22,

An official announcement from Mexico City, states Carranza and a number of companions were killed in an attack by General Herrara, at Tlaxcalabtongo in Puebla mountain.

Unofficial reports state five companions with Carranga were killed. These are supposed to include Cabrera (Secretary to the Treasury), Barranee (Chief of Staff,i, Berlanga (.Premier), Bouillas (.formerly Ambassador to United States). The names require confirmation.

It is'stated that General Herrara laid a plot and led forces which killed Carranza’s party. It is also alleged that Herrara personnally killed Carranza while he was sleeping. Obregon has issued a statement/ that Carranza was assassinated by his own men under Herrara a former federal soldier of the Diaz regime. He scathingly upbraids Carranza’s followers for permitting the assassination.

Obregon telegraphed to his representatives at Washington announcing the complete pacification of Mexico. The revolution has consummated the efforts to establish a real Republic. Telegraphic and railway communication is re-established throughout the country. CARRANZA’S BODY. (Received this day at 8 a.m,) I MEXICO CITY, May ->2. Carranza’s body lias 'arrived.
