The Japan Bank has advanced forty million yen to a syndicate of hanks which are aiding traders. The recent reaction is said to be due to -b----normal wartime prosperity over production, and the creation of wartime concerns in which large investments were made and the decline in exports from Yokohama. Silk and Cotton markets are weaker and metal and rubber market is stagnant. The cost of living has advanced sharply and most lines of manufaetrqrs are Virtually paralysed, due to the tightness of money. Ten small banks in Osaka suspended payment until the larger banks came to the rescue.
