The Lindtag elections in Brunswick, Mecklenburg and Strelitz and the Constituents’ Assembly election in Dantzig, reveal a retrograde tendency. Many plural Socialists have gone over to the Independents. A great many Democrats have joined the Conservatives. The German Popular Party at Dantzig secured thirty-four seats, the Majority Socialists nineteen, Independents twenty-one, Poles seven. The elections fairly indicate a possible trend to, the Reichstag; elections.
