ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. A QUIET MARKET. (Gy Telegraph.—Special to Uuardian.) - GTIRISTCH UR CM, May 13. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday:— Eat Cattle.—There was a heavy entry and the quality was good except for th 2 primest stuff, the demand showed a drop, especially on cow beef; Extra steers sold to £27 10s, prime £lB to £22, -unfinished £l3 to £l6, cows and heifers £9 to £l2, and up to £lB 7s 6d for extra special. Store Cattle.—There was a medium j entry and the demand was dull for all classes, especially dry cows. Several small lines of good two-year old steers sohl at £8 10s to £9 10s, yearlings £4 to £5, cows £4 to £6 10s, hulls £0 to £9 10s.
Fat Sheep—There was a larger yarding including several excellent lines of wethers and .ewes. The market, except for very best, was slightly easier and freezing butchers were operating sparingly. Best wethers .to 53s 6d, a few extra special show sheep to £5 12s, prime 42s to 48s (id, good 33s to. 395, others 127 sto 325. Best ewes to 465, a few extra special t 0.655, prime 81s 'to 38s (id, medium 26s (id tu 80s, light and inferior 21s (id (o 255. Lainhs were easier.
Store Sheep.—A small yarding, mostly of southern sheep. The market except for best local stuff was decidedly easier. Forward wethers 80s to 32s 2d, others 23s 6d to 26s 6d. Very few good lambs were offering, making 15s 6d to 19s, others 10s upwards. Any ewes offering were of a nondescript sort, a few local ewes making 26s 3d, others 19s to 24s (id, inferior sorts 10s 6d t<> 15s 6d, many being bought for potting.
