(iiUbTHALIAN it N.Z. CAUEE ASSOCIATION J ENGLISH CRICKET TOUIL MELBOURNE, April 8. Tlits Committee iof tlio Cricket Board of Control lias arranged details of the tour of the English team. The programme provides for five test matches, two in Sydney, two in Melbourne, and one in Adelaide as well as games in. each State. The tour opens at Perth on October 23rd. against West Australia, and concludes in Adelaide on March 15th against South Australia. The 'Board has agreed to increase the guarantee asked for by the Marylebone club, and has decided to increase the admissios charges. The expenses will bo sixty-two per cent, greater than during the previous visit of the Englishmen. LONDON, May 8. Playing for Oxford against Warwickshire, Bcttington, the Australian, took 5 wickets for 48. “Plum” Warner, in an article in the Standard, declares Oxford lias discovered a match winner in Bettington, who is a genuine googlier.
