HUNGER STRIKERS FREED. (Received this day at 9.30 a.m.)
LONDON, May 9
Twenty-two more Sinn Fciner hunger strikers have been released from Belfast gaol, 13 from Cork and 42 from Wormwood Scrubbs. The latter have been foodless for fourteen to eighteen days.
AN ARMED ATTACK
(Received this dav at 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, May 9,
Two hundred men armed with rifles, shot guns and bombs, attacked the police barracks at Cloyno. A Sergeant and five constables repelled the attack 'despite bombs, partially demolishing the building. Eventually the barracks were set on fire, and the garrison took refuge in adjoining houses, which also were set on fire. One constable was seriously injured, and it is believed one raider was killed. LONDON, May 8. Detective Reveil wore steel under his waistcoat, but bis assailants wounded him in the arm, leg and neck.
