WEDDING BELLS.

A very pretty wedding was solemnised at All Saints’ Church, Hokitika, on Wednesday, the 28th of April, by the Rev. Dr. Holloway,_the contracting parties being Felix (son of Mr and Mrs Gambitsky of Westport) to Emily, daughter of Mr and Mrs Holmes of Ku- 1 mara. The bride, who entered tho church on the arm of her brother, Mr , J. Holmes, looked charming in a very ! dainty frock of white crepe de chine,! hand embroided. She also wore a veil 1 with orange blossoms. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Sadie 1 Holmes, who also looked very nice in a j pale pink crepe de chine frock and j black tulle hat with pink roses. The j bridegroom was attended by Mr Harold Moss, of Greymouth, as best man. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a gold wristlet watch, and to the bridesmaid, a gold brooch. The bride’s gift to the bridegroom was a gold chain and pendant. After the ceremony, the happy couple motored to the residence of

the bride’s brother (Mr J. Holmes, Araliura), where a sumptuous wedding I breakfast was partaken of. The bride . was the recipient of many handsome and costly presents, including cheques. After a most enjoyable time was spent, the happy couple left by motor for : Greymouth, carrying with them the best wishes of their many friends. STEPHEN SON -HOPGOOD. A wedding which attracted much at-■ tention was celebrated at Ho.y Trinity ; Church, Greymouth, on Wednesday last, I when Miss Maude Hopgood, eldest daughter of Mr H. liopgood, of Raima, was married to Mr Peter Stephenson, a returned Soldier, and only son ot Mr i . j Stephenson also of Paroa. The bridal party and guests left Paroa by motor cars’ very effectively decorated by the . children of the school at which the bnde | and bridegroom had formerly attended. > A large crowd assembled to witness the j ceremony which was performed by tho i Rev Canon Carr. The bride, Who i\ as I given away by her father, wore a beauti- j ful gown of cream crepe de chine, j trimmed with pearls and true lover’s•; knots, the orthodox wreath and veil, : and also carried a beautiful bouquet of white chrysanthemums. Miss Haacl j Hopgood, sister of the bride, and Miss : Myrtle Stephenson, sister of the bride. , groom, were bridesmaids, and wore j dainty white frosted voile dresses trim- j med ivitli lace and slashed with ribbon, j black picture hats with streamers. They carried bouquets-of white chrysanthe-. mums' and pink cosmos, the gift o' •> i friend. The bridegroom was supported j by Mr Albert Hopgood as best man and Mr James Oliver as groomsman. i
