IN IRELAND.

(Imperial Neff's Service). 1 RISE DEMONSTRATORS. LONDON, April 28. The Irish demonstrations at Wormwood Scrubs caused counter demonstrations by large crowds hostile to the Irish men. Mud and stones were thrown and free fighting occurred for the Sinn Reiners’ flags. Five prisoners were released yesterday. Sixteen farmers were arrested in Roscommon in the act of cattle driving. While thousands at Arkloe were celebrating the return of the hunger strikers, the mob stoned a party of soldiers. The collision caused the troops to fire a volley. A civilian was killed and two others wounded. A Sinn Fein demonstration at Glasgow, in sympathy with the hunger strikers, ended in a collision with the police, who arrested the leader. An attempt by the crowd at the rescue led the police to make a baton charge, in which several were injured. The demonstrators were dispersed. The ‘ Times ” Dublin correspondent states that 200 raiders, described as Sinn Fein guardsmen, invaded Millsstreet gaol (County Cork) and carried off six men who were suspected as being implicated in a recent bank hold up, when C18,000,-was stolen. It is stated the captors intend to hold the suspects prisoners until they disclose the hiding place of the money.
