French circles were favourably impressed with the agreement, when Hon. Lloyd George announced the result of the conference’s joint declaration had . been prepared, announcing a FrancoBritish agreement to enforce the disarmament clauses of the Peace Treaty and disavowing the idea of France occupying the right bank of Rhine and Ruhr coalfields.
