PRINCE OF WALES’ TOUR.
'AUSTRALIAN & N.Z. CARLS ASSOCIATION] QUESTION- OF PRECEDENCE. I WELLINGTON, April 19. Government House announces that His Majesty the King has commanded that the Governor-General shall take precedence of His Royal Highness during the Prince of Wales’ visit to the Overseas Dominions. This precedence had already been given effect to during his Royal Highness’ tour through Canada. TRAVELLING WARRANTS. WELLINGTON, April 19. It has been decided by the Department of Internal Affairs that travelling warrants will be granted to all veterans and returned sailors, soldiers and nurses to enable them to travel to the nearest centre where there is a reception of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, provided that the journey to and from the reception can he made the same day. The Internal Affairs Department has requested the Defence Department to issue the- necessary warrants to the above application.
POLICE APPLICATION. WELLINGTON, April 10. The Police arrangements for the Royal tour are now complete. A detachment of 90 officers, non-com-missoned officers and men will accompany the Prince on his tour of the Dominion. The detachment will he under tno personal command of Commissioner O’Donovan. , . This body of Police is slightly largei than that which accompanied the present King, when as Duke of Cormval. and York, he came to New Zealand m June of 1900.
