WESTLAND HOSPITAL BUILDING FUND
The Secretary to the Charitable Aid Board at its meeting last evening, stated the funds in hand for the rebuilding of the new wing at Westland Hospital were as follows : £ s. d. On fixed deposit 4991 12 7 Other moneys and subsidy due 155 7 11 5147 0 6 Donations promised ... 1463 1 2 Subsidy to same 1755 14 6 Grand total 9065 16 2 It was stated that a telegram had been received from the Health Department stating the completed plans had been posted last Friday, the estimated cost being £12,000. The Chairman stated that the Town Band had kindly offered to run an art union on behalf of the Building Fund and on the motion of Messrs Blank and Evans it was resolved to accept the offer, with thanks, the prizes to he a £IOO war bond and four fine pictures. A further motion of thanks was passed to Mrs Bevan for the donation of a handsome picture.
