LBy Electric Telegraph—Copyright ) PARIS, Ajril 2. There has been a strike of the French coal miners, but the miners have now decided to resume work. The French General Federation of Labour have decided by a large majority, on a twenty-four hour strike on the Ist of May in favour of the socialisation of industry.

The police last night made several raids on Bolsheviks circles and arrested a number of the editorial staff of the “Resoviet.”

Government action is being taken in Franco to repress tendencies of Bolshevistic character manifested in ‘tlic country. The French Senate passed a vote of confidence in the Government’s domestic policy after the Premier, M. Millerand had replied to a request for information in regard to the Government’s attitude respecting Bolshevism.

M. Millerand declared that the Government “intended to enforce the law, and would prosecute those inciting the soldiers to disoedience, but the Government’s hands must be strengthened.” Therefore, he would introduce a Bill for the nationalisation of the Police, the reorganisation of the gend-armes-and for control of the movements of foreigners in Franco.” He asserted that a number of foreign propagandists had already been deported. .
