A well-attended meeting of the Itoss branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association was held in the Coronation Hall last Saturday evening. Mr W. De Bakker, in tlio'flbsence of the Vice-Presi-dent, occupied the chair. A motion of sympathy was tendered to Mr James Allan in connection with the recent bereavement in his family. The Treasurer presented his balance sheet, showing a satisfactory credit balance in band.—Received and approved. It was resolved to open ail account at the Bank of New Zealand and that all monies he banked not later than the Ist Wednesday in each month, and that alt cheques drawn be signed by either Mr James Allan or VV. T)e Bakkor with the Secretary. It was decided to balance the books on the 31st March and 30th Sept., in each year. Messrs R. H. Halligan and G. Roberts were appointed auditors. Tt was resolved to hold a monster hall in the Totara. Hall on Friday, 23 April, all returned soldiers with a committee of ladies to carry out the function. It was also decided to communicate with the authorities with the view of endeavouring to have a medical man stationed in the district, the matter to be further discussed at next meeting. A number of honorary members were enrolled, and a committee consisting of .Messrs Halligan, Cherrie and Inglis were appointed to visit the southern districts with the view of enrolling all returned soldiers and also further honorary members.
