Mr Valentine is being succeeded in Westland by Mr D. McGaskill, 8.A., who lias already arrived and taken charge of the district. Mr McGaskill who lias been until lately headmaster of the Waimataiti school, Timaru, was recently fa re welled, and made the recipient of a number of presentations, very general expressions of sorrow being expressed at his departure with good wishes for the future.
