PEACE TREATY

(Reuter.) WASHINGTON, March 23 Senator Polk has announced that the United States has strongly remonstrated against the rulings of the Allied Reparation Commission that, under tlisjPeace Treaty, the sale of certain German property in neutral countries can be forced, if considered necessary, to satisfy the initial of . the German war indemnity. A further American protest is now i being prepared because such a construction of the Treaty is contrary to the official .interpretation that has been exchanged already between Germany and the Allies. THE ALLIES CONCERN. (Imperial News Service.) (Received this day at 9.20 a.m.) LONDON, March 22. In the Commons, replying to Mr Ivenworthy, Hon Lloyd George stated the Government established in Germany was a question for the Germans. The Allies concern was to see that whatever Government there was in Germany, the Peace Treaty was respected. *
