WILD AND BASSETT

A NEW ENTERPRISE. In Revell St. fronting Hamilton Rt. commodious new premises are now being erected for the firm of Wild and Bassett, who, we learn have joined in partnership to engage in the motor re_ pair business and are the first to erect a shop to be operated by the electric power now being brought into the town.

Born in Hokitika, Mr Alex Wild was long a familiar and popular figure in the place. He served seven years apprenticeship at Cederman’s Engineering Works and then went to Australia for four years at Toowoomba, Mt. Morgan and the Ipswich Railway Workshops, afterwards going to England where he put in 3-i years at Vickers Naval Construction Works. Mr Stanley Bassett brings to the business several years experience as a motor specialist. He served his apprenticeship as an Engineer at the Anchor Foundry, Nelson, and has since then devoted himself to the motor side of his profession.

The new firm intend to devote themselves to fine engineering work and particujarly to motor-car and motor-cycle repairs' of which they see great developments, and for this purpose are installing new and most modern machinery. Although it is extremely difficult now-a-days to get new machines ol the best repute they have been most fortunate in securing for their plant- an electric motor and other machinery, landing in New Zealand in a fortnight’s time. We. with very many of our readers warmly wish tin- new firm all the success that their personal integrity, skill as tradesmen, and efficient plant will he sure to bring them.
