IRISH CONCERT
Princess Theatre last night held a crowded and very warm hearted assemblage, when the Irish National Con. cert took place. The stage had been prettily decorated, and when the curtain rose, every available seat had been filled. The audience throughout, was most appreciative, a splendid concert programme being given, which was heartily enjoyed, and hearty recalls were insisted on. During the interval, Dean Tubman in the courso*of a short address thanked the audience for their substantial patronage, and the performers for the splendid programme
I'.'.v were giving which had given so much pleasure and enjoyment to the audience. He .expressed his gratification at the renewal of the concerts, which he hoped would bo repeated at least once a year. ‘ The accompanists during the evening were Misses Daly, Gicso, Heva.ncy, and Stopfortli, and Mr AV. 1,. Joyce. The programme which was a very | lengthy one, and was not completed till after 11 o’clock was as follows: Overture, “Erin’s Wreath,” by the Overseas Orchestra; Song, “Irish Emigrant” Air T. Clarke (en. core “Rells of St. Alarvs”); Song, “She is Far From the Land” Afiss Al. Jones (encore, “Relieve Ale”); Chorus “Angel of Light give Ireland her Right” Convent pupils. Second Part: Overture, “Erin’s AVreath” Overseas Orchestra; Recitation, “Shamus O’Brien” Air AL Fitzgerald (encore “Emmett’s Farewell”); Irish Jig, Aliss Duncan (encore); Duet, “A AVee Bit of Brogue,” Alisses E.
