DARWIN ENQUIRY. ("Received this day at 8 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. At the Northern Territory Enquiry, Mistress Parreau, questioned regarding her sensational allegations against officials of the Northern Territory, gave circumstantial evidence how she shot and believed she killed a man watching her house at Port Darwin. He disappeared and she reported the. matter to the police, but nothing transpired. The authorities deny any police agent was shot.
APPEAL RESERVED. (Received this day at 10.15 r.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Full Court reserved judgment in a further appeal by R. D. Meagher foi reinstatement on the roll of solicitors. BENZINE EXPLOSION. BRISBANE, This Day. An explosion of a cargo of benzine on the steamer Caroo, off Dunk Island, killed the mate and badly injured tinengineer. The vessel was towed, burning, to Townsville, where it was totally destroyed.
