WOOL COMMANDEER
MR W. D. LYSN'AR’S CHALLENGE. Tile circular letter recently issued by tlio Prime Minister regarding the action of certain wool-growers holding hack their wool under the impression that the Imperial requisition would be lifted on June 30th has been the subject of a protest by Mr W. D. Lysnar M.l*. “As a wool grower who is advisedly with-holding his wool,” Mr Lysnar in a letter to Mr Massey says, “I take strong exception to your circular letter, and particularly resent vour statement that one is committing an offence and am acting entirely in accordance with the spirit and letter of the law. ... As you officially say I am committing an offence I invite you and your Government to take immediate action against me, as I have no desire to intentionally disregard or break the law in connexion with this commander, and at present, as far as I can learn and am legally advised I am not breaking any law, but on the contrary your Government and the Imperial authorities have been break ing both the terms of the original contract and disregarding the law winch your Government has placed on the Statute Book, and I ask you to immediately put me right by taking action against me.”
