A wireless; from Raratonga states tlie Eurpeans on Friday motored the Parliamentary party over the beautiful road circling Raratonga. The party subsequently inspected the plantations, and the pocess of copra-making, as well as a parade of returned soldiers. Sir James Alien presented Raratonga with £i German gun.
Important results were gained when the Afikis after considering Sir James Allen’s suggestion oh Thursday signed the document in the presence of the Members, inviting European representa tion qp the Island Council, conditional on the liquor prohibition and law against cohabitation applying to whites equally with the natives. The party is leaving for Aitutaki on Saturday. , ~ . The traders bitterly complained of insulting treatment by the Government a<rent, who made a sjiifited reply, and amisfed the traders bf smuggling spirits ashore. The proceedings became quite dramatic. Sir James Allen said the Government would support the agent in all efforts to suppress smuggling, which Sir James Allen is convinced is taking place. The party are all well. „
