A strong condemnation of the wages offered to youths in the various industries and trades was made at a conciliation sitting at Wellington by Mr M. J. Reardon.

I myself put before the Government a bill which made provision that a boy should he placed under proper control from the time he left the primary school and completed his apprenticeship, but the bill wais defeated through tho. agency of tlie employers.
