PROPOSED SALE OE WORK
I Ou February 25th the ladies of Woodstock and Hi mu met in the Schoolroom at Woodstock for the purpose of making arrangements to hold a Sale of Work at the end of March, the proceeds of which, are for the purchase of a school piano. Mr Wells acted as chairman, introducing j\lr Thomson (acting lieadmaster) who placed before the people the
needs of the school. •• For more than five years the piano lias been practically useless, and singing has had to be taught by means of a tuning fork only. Miss Naucekivell was appointed to the chair, and Mrs Thomson secretary, collectors were also appointed for donations both material and monetary ,and all expressed eager, ness to make the sale a great success.
The children deserve all assistance in this respect, as during the last five and a half years they have foregone all prizes and other luxuries in order Ito help the boys at the war, and it I lias been due also to this fact that up ■ to the present no effort has been made to obtain.a new instrument.
It was decided to hold a Euchre Tournament on Friday March sth in , connection with the above, due notice of this will appear in the daily paper.
