| A quiet wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church, Hokitika, on the 25th February, when Miss Elizabeth Pawlinson, only daughter of Mrs ltawlinson and the late Joseph ltawlinson, of Lake Farm, Degenham, Essex, England, was married to Robert Ritchie, eldest son of Mr and Mrs John Ritchie, late pf Ilruee Bay and now of Hokitika. The bride was attended by Miss Mary Spillanp, while thp duties pf best man were carried out by Mr M. Nolan. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Hey P, |L Fraser, M.A. The bride, groom’s present to the bride was a gold chain and pendant, and .to the bridesmaid a .gold brooch. ’ After the ceremony the guests were entertained at a dainty wedding breakfast at Preston’s Ten Rooms, when the usual toasts were honoured. Later the happy couple left |, y the 1 .o’clock train amidst showers of rice, on route for Christchurch. The young couple, on return, are finally settling ip Bruce, Bay, where Mr Ritchie, in company with his brother William, will ho engaged in pastoral pqrsqits op a fairly extensive scale.
