(Uj Electric Telegraph— Co >yi igbt.) 'AOSTOAI.IAN & N.Z. CAJ VA ASSOCIATIONJ SYDNEY, Feb. 22. Another shooting tragedy has occurred at Bronte, in East Sydney. Shots were heard in a shelter close to the beach, then a man and a woman >vere found dead. Both were fashionably dressed, and were wearing considerable jewellery. There is no clue to thenidentity. Yesterday proved a “Black Saturday” in the way of tragedies. As regards the Bronte affair, it has now been established that Harry Thornton, a wharf labourer, murdered Airs Lilian Rehoe, a married woman, and then committed suicide. Following this murder there came the news of a sensational street fight between some seamen, one of whom wounded five others with a jack knife. Later, Peter Geary, a returned soldier, was shot dead and his wife was wounded in aho use at Surrey Hills. A young married woman has been arrested and charged with this crime. A further affray occurred at Ultimo, where five shots were fired at Bob Turner, a formerly champion boxer, in a house. Three shots took effect. Turner was sent to the hospital. He refused to divulge the name of his assailant. An unnamed woman was found dead at Coogee.
