POLLARD 5 ® PICTURES.

CHARLIE CHAPLIN—TO-NIGHT.

; This (W ednesday) evening, Pollard’s ! present at the Princess Theatre a big four feature programme including Charlie Chaplin in “Carmen.” This is a travesty on the grand opera that has rocked the world with laughter, Edna Purviance, plays the roll of “Carmen,” and little Charlie, “Chip” Monahan. The wonderful juvenile Chaplin imitator as “Bon Doze” in a Burlesque of the Chaplin Burlesque; “Carmen” supported by the juvenile Prime Donna, Janethel Monahan, as “Carmen”, and the wonder children. The third feature is an O. Henry story; “Vanity and Some Cables” starring Wallace MacDonald and Mildred Manning. There will be further ohapters of the great serial story, “The Lightning Raiders.”

On Thursday, the special attractions will be Norma Talmadge in “Her \Only Way,” and serial “House of Hate.” McLEAN’S PICTURES. BILLIE BUBKE TO-NIGHT. Owing to transit delays, Mr McLean regrets that “The Silver King” .cannot be screened on Wednesday as announced previously. Instead Mr McLean will present the wonderful Bailie Burke in her startling photoplay “The Make Believe Wife.” It was admitted that ap-

pearances were against the pair so they married. He had a reputation as a lady killer and she being considered a prude was afraid of public opinion—so they married. It was an easy way out of the trouble because a divorce was already assured. They had to get divorced anyway. He had another girl —she was betrothed to another man. Married—she went her way—he his. She thought she’d stay overnight at her husband’s flat—for appearances sake. Tie decided to shut himself in his room and hibernate instead of going to China till the divorce was over. The. support' ing items include a Burton Holmes, travel picture and tile latest Gazette.

THE DANDIES OF 1920. PRINCES THEATRE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. On Friday and Saturday nights next, “The Dandies of 1920” will open a short season of two nights in the Princess Theatre. The artists are said to be exceptionally capable and gifted with ability above the average. Their programmes have the merit of possessing many numbers that are entirely new and it is said that quite a large portion of the latest musical and comedy .successes will be presented when the company makes its local appearance. Several seasons have passed since the original company of the “The Dandies” first set a high standard in entertainments, and thi s has been maintained by each succeeding coterie. For brightness and vivacity, combined with quality' and the speed with which they work, it is claimed that' “The Dandies of 1920,” are ahead of any previous similar combination. A complete change of programme will be presented each evening. Reserved seats can he booked at Mclntosh’s.
