UNLOADING HELD UP,
DUNEDIN, Feb. 9
The Kaiapoi arrived at Port Chalmers last evening from Westport and berthed alongside the Mokoia to bunker that vessel. This morning coaling operations did not go on, as the waterside workers declined to go on board the Mokoia because influenza cases are still developing on her. The Kaiapoi was hauled to another berth to discharge into hulks.
WAVE SAID TO BE ABATING. WELLINGTON, Feb. 7
Mr G. Castle, chairman of the Wellington Hospital Board, states that lie has consulted medical men, and is now of opinion tljat it is not necessary to set up vigilance committees. Medical men hold the view that the influenza wave is abating.
