Owing to transit delays, Mr McLean regrets that “The Silver King” cannot be screened on Wednesday as announced previously. Instead Mr McLean will present the wonderful Billie Burke in her startling photoplay “The Make Believe Wife.” It was admitted that appearances were against the pair so they married. He bad a reputation as a lady killer and she being considered a prude was afraid of public opinion—so they married. It was an easy way out of the trouble because a divorce was already assured. They bad to get divorced anyway. He bad another girl —she was betrothed to another man. Married—she went her way—lie his. She thought she’d stay overnight at her husband’s flat—for appearances sake. He decided to shut himself in bis room and hibernate instead of going to China till the divorce was over. The support-
ing items include a Burton Holmes travel picture and the latest Gazette.
