CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as fob lows regarding their stock sale yesterday : Store sheep.—There was a medium yarding, mostly comprised of lambs, which sold farmly well. Best rape lambs sold from 21s to 245; others sold from 17s 6d to 20sffi smaller from 10s 6d upwards'. Bast wethers sold to 29s 6d, best young ewes from 26s to 30s; others from 20s upwards. Beef.—There was a farmly large yard ing, but owing to supplies on hand, the market operated slack, but improved as it progressed, but on the whole was easier all round than last week. The quality was very mixed. (Best steers sold to £2B 15s, prime £2O to £25 ss, unfinished and lighter £l3 10s to £l6 10; medium sorts £l7 to £l9; cows and heifers £lO 6s to £ls ss, a few good making more. Freezing buyers were hardly as keen. Store cattle.—A fairly large yarding, but very mixed quality and few quotable lines were offered, but the general tone of the market was firmer all round. Fat sheep.—There was a smaller yard ing and the market was firm throughout. Freezing buyers were operating keenly. Best wethers to 455, prime 34s to 395, medium 30s to 335; best ewes to 28s; prime 32s to 3s 6d; lighter 26s to 31; inferior 21s to 24s 6d. Lamb* wore firm.
