BOXING.
On Saturday evening the Hokitika Boxing Association’s contests in the Princess Theatre take place when two bouts are set down for decision. These are, a fifteen round welter weight con test between Peter Cook of Christchurch, and Sailor O’Dea of Hokitika, and a six round heavy weight amateur bout between, It. Rooney of Otira, and H. 'Shaw of Paparoa. Both contests are attracting a considerable amount of interest and very substantial booking of seats has taken place as a result. There is a considerable difference of opinion as to the outcome. For the professional bout both men have been undergoing steady training for some time past, and the supporters of both men are confident as to the success of their man. In the heavy weight bout, the two men met some time ago and the challenger is confident of his ability to change Me verdict then given. To enable patrons to return home by outgoing trains to Ross and Greymouth that evening, there wall be a prompt calling of the opening bout, so patrons are advised to bo in tbeir seats before 7.30. p.m., when the proceedings open. As a special privilege ladies will he admitted to the dress circle for 2/6, and seats may he reserved at Mclntosh’s.
