WELLINGTON, ..Jan. 27. It is now expected that the/ Coal Owners'' Association will review the position in regard to the coal dispute at an early date. It is stated the coal mine owners made a proposal to act upon a recent motion credited to a section of men at Iluntly. This move is not acceptable to the Alliance of Labour, which is conducting the mining dispute for the Miners Federation. Therefore, it is explained the dispute is no nearer settlement now than it has been for some .months. Tlie Secretary of the Alliance of Lahour, in'a letter to the Secretary'of tlie Coal Owners? Association, repeated a statement which the Alliance has foiwarded to the Prime Minister, that there can he no settlement of the dispute until such time as- a Conference takes place between the representatives of the Coal Owners’ Association and the representatives of tlie Alliance of Labour and of New Zealand Miners’ Federation. As already stated, the Owners are expected to review the position at an early date,.
