THE EX-KAISER
DUPED and ABANDONED
(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, Jan. 25.
The Berlin correspondent of the “Morning Post” reports that German newspapers are publishing the exKaiser’s letter to Prince Furstenburg, in which Wilhelm states that he no longer wishes to return to Germany, where everybody, even von BethmannHollweg, Ludendorff, and von Tirpitz, duped and abandoned him. He adds: I suffer much in health. The pains in my-right leg and arm have returned. I suffer still more owing to the uncertainty of the future, and what is going to happen. I have nothing favourable to hope for since Nicholas’s tragic end. for monarchial solidarity has dflKppearcd from the world. Others beueve they may have their thrones by abandoning me. Henry’s and Victoria’s appeals have died away without finding an echo.”
